1.4 API Keys

If you choose to use your own Gemini API key, this key is stored locally on your device (in your browser's local storage). We do not store your personal API keys on our servers. They are transmitted securely only when making requests to the Google Gemini API on your behalf.

That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.
  • Google Gemini API: Our core service utilizes Google's Gemini API for image analysis. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle data processed through their APIs.

8. Links to Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

ShrinkIt Mobile App Privacy Policy

Welcome to ShrinkIt - Image Resizer/Compressor ("we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use the ShrinkIt mobile application (the "App") and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

1. THE PRINCIPLE OF LOCAL PROCESSING

The most important privacy feature of ShrinkIt is that all image processing happens locally on your device.

Unlike many other image editing apps, ShrinkIt does not upload your high-resolution photos to any external servers or cloud services for resizing, cropping, or compression. Every mathematical operation performed on your image data is executed within the App's private sandbox on your own hardware. This ensures that your private photos never leave your device without your explicit action (such as using the 'Share' feature).

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We strive to collect as little personal information as possible. The data we do interact with falls into the following categories:

A. Media and Device Permissions

To provide its core functionality, the App requires your permission to access your device’s internal and/or external storage (Gallery). We use these permissions to:

  • Retrieve the specific image you select for editing.
  • Save the finalized, processed image back to your device's gallery.
  • Camera access (if used) is strictly for capturing a new photo for immediate processing within the App.

Note: We do not "mine" your gallery. We only access the visual data of the individual files you interact with.

B. Automatically Collected Technical Data

When you use the App, we may utilize third-party analytics and advertising tools (such as Google AdMob) that automatically collect certain information about your device and usage patterns, including:

  • Device Type (e.g., Samsung Galaxy S21, iPhone 13).
  • Operating System version.
  • Unique device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID or IDFA).
  • App crash logs and performance metrics.
  • General location data (at the city or country level based on IP, used for serving relevant ads).

3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND ADVERTISING

This App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use information about your use of the App to serve advertisements that are more relevant to your interests. This data collection is governed by Google’s own Privacy Policy.

You can manage your advertising preferences or opt-out of personalized ads through your device settings:

  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization.
  • iOS: Settings > Privacy > Tracking.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the minimal information collected for the following purposes:

  • To operate and maintain the App's functionality.
  • To improve the App's performance by analyzing crash reports and bug logs.
  • To understand user preferences (e.g., popular aspect ratios) to guide future development.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
  • To display advertisements that help keep the App free for all users.

5. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We do not share your image content with any third party, as your images stay on your device. We may share aggregated, anonymous demographic information not linked to any personal identification information with our business partners and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.

6. SECURITY OF YOUR DATA

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your information. Because your image data never leaves your device, the primary security of your photos remains your device's own lock screen and encryption. For the minor technical data we collect through third parties, we rely on the industry-standard security protocols provided by Google and other service providers.

7. DATA RETENTION

Your processed images are stored on your device until you choose to delete them. The "Recent Files" history within the App is a local database that behaves like a cache; uninstalling the App will generally remove this local history. Third-party analytics data is retained in accordance with the retention policies of those respective services.

8. CALIFORNIA CONSUMER PRIVACY ACT (CCPA) & GDPR

We are committed to data transparency. If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you have the following rights:

  • The right to be informed about the data collected.
  • The right to access and portability of your data.
  • The right to request the deletion of your data.
  • The right to opt-out of the "sale" of personal information (as defined by CCPA).

Because we do not store your identity or account information on our servers, you can exercise most of these rights directly by resetting your Advertising ID in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.

10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
